Try-Z Seminar
The Try-Z training session is uniquely designed to take managers and executives through an introspective 2-1/2 days of exploring and understanding the challenges involved in creating a continuous improvement environment. Instead of being lectured to, participants explore a hands on process in which they initially know nothing. They take this process through three continuous improvement cycles. The group begins by formalizing the process, and then testing the results. The initial cycle takes approximately an hour, with 150-200 identifiable defects. They then add very basic TQM tools within the continuous improvement environment that we help them to create. These tools can then be used to solve specific problems that they encounter. By the third cycle, the group will have made incremental improvements that will produce the same quantity as before in 20-25 minutes with less than 10 identifiable defects!

Among the effects of this training is a tremendous appreciation for the challenges involved in creating an environment that will accept the frequent long term changes inherent in applying continuous improvement changes. Among these demonstrated challenges is an appreciation for the amount of detail involved in managing processes and the realization that everything is a process. The delegates will learn the discipline of sticking to the work environment that needs to be created. The delagates will understand the incredible focus needed throughout an organization that must be achieved if people are given the authority and responsibility for the processes for which they are involved. This focus is manifested by the teamwork that results and in the trust that each team member will attack their process based on its Quality, Cost, Delivery and Safety.

When you leave the Try-Z seminar you will know how to begin to create the environment that will allow you to solve your organization's specific problems by applying QCDSM principles.

Who should attend?
Many companies/facilities use this Seminar to generate what we refer to as the critical mass in terms of excitement, knowledge and understanding. It is from this enthusiasm that the champions of the process emerge. Therefore, we recommend any person who is expected to be an instrument of change be the first to benefit from this training. In detail, this means that facility managers, their direct reports, first line supervisors and appropriate Union representatives.

The QCDSM implementation process begins with the Green Area Meeting Training Module. All Management and Supervisory staff, along with the identified Team Leaders and Alternate Leaders in the areas that are part of the initial start-up become part of this training.
